About the SHARE Network

What is the Gilbrea Centre?  The Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging is an interdisciplinary hub of research, teaching, and outreach hosted in the Faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster University.  In collaboration with researchers, students, and those in the community, the mission of the Centre is to produce and communicate socially relevant knowledge which helps to broaden understandings of aging through research, community partnerships and knowledge exchange.

What is the SHARE Network?  The SHARE Network are different volunteer groups for older adults 55+ developed by the Gilbrea Centre. The SHARE Network provides members the opportunity to meet, connect, socialize, and engage in discussions, research workshop initiatives. Members are provided resources and opportunities to participate and co-design research, different voluntary opportunities and engage in awareness raising and public engagement that relates to the aging studies work that we do at the Gilbrea Centre.

  • Would you like to meet other older people and work together to help inform the research and education undertaken by the Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging at McMaster University?
  • Would you like to attend workshops and other activities hosted at the University and other community venues?
  • Would you like to help address the social health and wellbeing concerns of older adults by shaping the future direction of research in this area?
