Your Voices, Your Stories: Our Research So Far (Juravinski Integrated Residential Care Initiative)

This poster presents preliminary findings from a thematic analysis of fieldwork conducted in four residential care facilities (RCFs) in Hamilton, Ontario. The project explores the lived experiences of RCF residents and staff, with themes emerging around daily life, relationships, recreation, safety and security, healthcare, and funding and regulations.

This work is part of the broader Juravinski Integrated Residential Care Initiative, a collaboration between the Juravinski Research Institute, Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster University, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, aimed at identifying and responding to the health and social care needs of those living and working in RCFs. Findings from this project will be shared with key decision-makers to inform helpful change in the sector.
