SHARE Research Group Registration Form

What is S.H.A.R.E?

Seniors Helping Advance Research Excellence is a volunteer research group administered by the Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging.

Who can be a member?

Anyone over the age of 55.

What do S.H.A.R.E members do?

As a volunteer, your involvement includes completing questionnaires on a variety of issues several times a year. Other projects depend on volunteers coming into McMaster to participate, with of course, reimbursement for any expenses incurred. The projects address topics such as utilization of community services, successful aging, communication, memory, volunteering, intergenerational interactions, and health. Some of the studies that you will be asked to participate in may be student research projects, supervised by McMaster faculty. Participation is always voluntary and you are not required to participate in projects if you choose not to.

What do you do with the information I provide?

The list is maintained and administered by the Gilbrea Centre. All information is used for research purposes (with your consent per project) and is kept strictly confidential.

What does it cost to be a S.H.A.R.E. member?

NOTHING! Any questionnaire that you receive as a S.H.A.R.E. member will be accompanied by a stamped, pre-addressed envelope for convenient return.
