The Frailty Rehab at Home study is now open to recruitment!

The GERAS Centre for Aging Research is looking to recruit older adults, 65 years of age or older, in the community, who are mild to moderately frail, and cleared to exercise. Those randomized into the intervention group will receive exercise classes & consultationssocialization calls from medical student volunteers, nutritional meeting & protein supplementation, and a medication consultation with a pharmacist. Those randomized into the control group will receive the socialization phone calls and nutrition information and exercise classes at the end of the study. All study visits will be online via Zoom or other videoconferencing platforms. We also have a limited number of iPads (with internet/ data) to give to participants who do not have their own tablets or computers for videoconferencing.

Everything is free and participants never have to leave their home. There are potential benefits to participants in both control and intervention groups. This is a great opportunity for older adults in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information, or if you or someone you know would like to participate, please call us at 905-521-2100 ext. 12232 or email Jessica at belgravej@hhsc.ca.
